What is an anagram?
An anagram is a word made by rearranging all the letters of another word. LISTEN, for example, can become ENLIST, INLETS, SILENT, TINSEL. Each uses exactly the same letters, once each.
How to use the anagram solver
- Type your letters into the box. Use ? if one letter is unknown.
- The solver shows only words that use every tile, which is what makes a true anagram.
- Want shorter words too? Open Filter words and untick “Only words that use every tile.”
Solving anagram puzzles
For crossword and cryptic clues, count the letters you know and use ? for the ones you don't. For tile games, switch off the every-tile filter to see the shorter plays hidden in your rack. For general unscrambling, use the word unscrambler.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an anagram solver and a word unscrambler?
An anagram solver finds words that use all of your letters. A word unscrambler also shows shorter words made from some of them. Wordrack does both: untick the every-tile option to see shorter words.
Can I solve an anagram with a missing letter?
Yes. Type ? for the missing letter and the solver tries every possibility.
Why does my word show no anagrams?
Many words have no other arrangement that forms a valid word. Try removing the every-tile filter to see words made from some of your letters.
